Experienced Legal Secretary Required for our Private Client Department
We require a motivated team player, who essentially will have had experience of working in a law firm, to join us in our expanding Private Client department based at Bank Parade, Burnley. The position involves providing secretarial and administrative support to three full time fee earners including the Head of Department, who you will report to.
Ideally you will have had a minimum of two years of experience working as secretarial/support staff in a law firm, preferably working with Fee Earners dealing with Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and other private client matters. However, applicants with the necessary transferable skills from other disciplines and the right personality will be considered. Good and accurate typing skills are essential.
Duties include digital dictation of letters, attendance notes, will drafts, drafting trusts and processing Lasting Powers of Attorney. Some experience of Laser Forms or similar software is desirable. You will also need to be able to make applications through the Land Registry portal. You will be expected to open and close matters, deal with posting slips, produce invoices and deal with other administrative tasks as required. You will need to deal with clients both on the telephone and in person and will be expected to be aware of the need for client confidentiality.
The position is full time and the salary will be based on your experience and skill set.
